We left Indy around noon on Saturday, arriving at Philadelphia around 2:30pm. After a three hour layover, we left Philly and were on our way to Rome. We landed around 8:15am Sunday morning and waited at the airport until our shuttle took us to our b&b. As you can see in the picture below our b&b was rather nondescript and our driver drove right by and dropped us off about two blocks beyond the entrance :) We walked back to the b&b only to discover their check-in and our room was on the 5th floor. No elevator in sight!!! So we carried our luggage up the stairs and (thank goodness) they let us check into our room right away.
By Sunday night we were beat, as we needed to stay up to reset our internal clocks. That didn't stop us joining a nice young Irish couple at a pub next to the hotel and watching a bit of premier league football, Manchester United versus Liverpool, though we left before the end and wandered a bit, including a stop at Trevi fountain. Rick Steves must have visited at 5 am to be able to throw a coin in the fountain, we couldn't get anywhere close, it was packed with tourists and cheap souvenir hawkers. We did have a nice dinner at a pizzeria not too far away, then crashed back at the room to finish our day.
