We started the day with breakfast, which we ate on a rooftop garden that was part of our b&b. And then we left for our "hop on hop off" bus tour of the city. First stop...the Coliseum. After seeing a VERY long line just to buy tickets to go inside,we signed up for walking tour that included both the Coliseum and Palatine Hill. This put us ahead of those waiting in line:) The coliseum was very impressive and the tour of the ruins surrounding Palatine Hill was also cool. However, the sun was HOT so we left to get back on the bus and didn't get off again until we decided to eat. Then we went back to our room to relax and wait for it to cool off a bit. In the late afternoon we walked to St Maria Maggiore, one of many famous churches, and after that just strolled through the streets of Rome. We ended our day with dinner at one of the many many many restaurants that line the streets.
